OSWESTRY’S CANTIONES CHOIR WELCOMES NEW TENORS

Cantiones is a friendly and ambitious choir with room for a couple more tenors. We sing a wide range of music from all periods and styles. Our concerts aim to be both spiritually fulfilling and enjoyable for audience and choir. We look for the same mix in our rehearsals. We work hard because we seek and achieve high standards but our conductor, Martin Bussey is firmly of the view that rehearsals must be positive experiences.

You will ideally have a range up to top G (beyond would be wonderful!) but if you don’t quite get there don’t be put off. We work at vocal technique as well as the notes. We look for confidence in sight reading but also a readiness to put in some practice outside rehearsals if reading is not your strongest area. You’ll be invited to try us out in a rehearsal and see if you like us and our music making.

We currently rehearse in Holy Trinity Church in the centre of Oswestry.

Interested? Please get in touch with our chair, Paul Myres on paulmyres@icloud.com.

Although The Dream of Gerontius concert with the Chester Bach Singers and the Chester Philharmonic Orchestra wasn't recorded, a member of the audience recorded a clip on a phone of the concert from the 5th row back.
